1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Friends of Stoneworks Orkney website (www.friendsofstoneworksorkney.co.uk) for making donations and purchasing tickets for our monthly raffle. By making a donation or purchasing raffle tickets, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Friends of Stoneworks Orkney is a charity registered in Scotland (Scottish Charity Number: (SC050892).
2. Definitions
· "We", "Us", "Our": Friends of Stoneworks Orkney.
· "You", "Your": The user of the website making a donation or purchasing raffle tickets.
· "Raffle": The monthly prize draw operated by us.
· "Ticket": An entry into the monthly raffle.
Part A: General Terms for All Transactions (Donations & Raffle)
3. Donations
3.1. All donations made through our website are voluntary and non-refundable, unless required by law.
3.2. We will use donations to support our charitable objectives of raising money then making donations and giving gifts to other local organisations and charities in Orkney.
3.3. If you select the Gift Aid option, you confirm that you are a UK taxpayer and understand that we will claim an additional 25p from the UK government for every £1 you donate, at no extra cost to you. It is your responsibility to ensure you meet the UK tax requirements for Gift Aid.
4. Payment
4.1. All payments are processed securely by our third-party payment providers (ApplePay, GooglePay).
4.2. We do not store your credit or debit card details on our website.
4.3. By providing payment information, you confirm you are authorised to use the payment method.
5. Limitation of Liability
5.1. We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of our website, including but not limited to: *

Any failure or delay in processing a payment or raffle ticket. *

Any circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
5.2. Nothing in these terms shall exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud.
6. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. All personal data you provide is collected, used, and protected in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Part B: Specific Terms for the Monthly Raffle
7. Raffle Rules
7.1. Eligibility: Entrants must be 16 years of age or older and resident in Great Britain. Employees and trustees of Friends of Stoneworks Orkney and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
7.2. How to Enter: Tickets can only be purchased online through our official website. Tickets are £5 each. There is no limit limit to the number of tickets an individual may purchase.
7.3. Draw Date: The draw for each month's raffle will take place in the first week of the following month or as otherwise advertised. Tickets must be purchased by 23:59 on the last day of the month to be entered into that month's draw.
7.4. The Prize: Prizes for each raffle will be clearly advertised on our website (e.g., 50% of the monthly ticket sales revenue, a specific item, or a fixed cash prize). The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative will be offered unless explicitly stated.
7.5. Winner Selection: The winner will be selected using a random number generator, which will randomly select a winning ticket number from all tickets sold that month. The draw is supervised by an independent observer where possible.
7.6. Winner Notification: The winner will be notified by email and/or telephone within 7 days of the draw using the details provided at the time of purchase. If we cannot contact the winner within 14 days of the draw, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize and select a replacement winner.
7.7. Prize Fulfilment: The prize will be delivered or arranged within 28 days of confirming the winner's details.
7.8. Winner Publicity: The first name and initial of the winner and their town (e.g., "Jane P. from Kirkwall") will be published on our website and social media channels. By entering the raffle, you agree to this use of your information. You may object to this publicity by contacting us before the draw takes place.
8. Proceeds
8.1. The proceeds from the raffle (after deduction of the prize value and any reasonable operating costs, such as payment processing fees) will be used to support our charitable objectives.
9. Responsible Gambling
9.1. Our raffle is intended to be a fun way to support our cause. We encourage responsible gambling.
9.2. If you feel you have a problem with gambling, we urge you to seek help and advice from BeGambleAware.org or by calling the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133.
10. General Provisions
10.1 Any revenues generated from raffle tickets sales are not eligible for Gift Aid.
11. Changes to Terms
11.1 We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The latest version will always be posted on our website.
12. Governing Law
12.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
